Adam Gerrand (a past PAC member from over 10 years ago) wants to rent a reliable old Peugeot for 3 weeks from 10 November to 2nd December 2017. Adam has been living overseas but will be visiting Canberra in this period and wondered if anyone has a spare old Peugeot to rent for suburban Canberra driving to visit friends etc?
Apartment in Bangkok available for that period in exchange if you are interested, or can pay to rent the car of course. Adam is mid 50s with a good driving history, and is familiar with many Peugeot's having owned 404, 504, 307. Contact: Adam or text his Thai mobile (50 cents?) +66 97 157 7048.
Would prefer 1923-24 narrow chassis wire wheeled version. However, everything considered, including subsequent disc wheeled versions up to 1928 (Types 172BC, 172R and 172M). As points of identification, these cars have semi enclosed punt-type chassis, a tiny fixed head engine of either 667 or 720cc and a three speed gearbox combined with a worm final drive.
A complete and unmolested car would be ideal but again, anything considered, including basket cases and bits. I am an experienced and rather fastidious restorer who needs a new project which will fit into my ever diminishing working space. Needless to say I also have a soft spot for Peugeots, with a recently completed 203 wagon. All leads gratefully appreciated.
